Dolly Parton is great fun and it doesn’t matter if her new music is good or bad, because she’s a wonderful woman to have around. In super silly news, she’s announced she’s going rock. And because she’s fucking Dolly fucking Parton and she can do whatever the fuck she wants, she’s basically assembled an eye-watering amount of legends and stars for the project.

What kind of lunatic would say no to Dolly? She’s basically got The Beatles back together in the process.

The new LP is called ‘Rockstar’ and comes in at a whopping 30 tracks, and it’ll be out on November 17th, so start doing your stretches and limber up now.

On it, she covers ‘Let It Be’ with both surviving members of The Beatles on it, and she’s drafted in Peter Frampton and Mick Fleetwood, because why the fuck not? She’s called in Sheryl Crow and Emmylou Harris for her version of ‘You’re No Good’ too, which we’re looking forward to a whole lot if it’s anything like the Linda Ronstadt version.

There’s also Miley, Elton, Sting, Debbie Harry, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lizzo, Pink, Brandi Carlile, Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, Michael fucking McDonald (!!!), Joan Jett, Simon Le Bon, Chris Stapleton, Pat Benatar, Melissa Etheridge, Rob Halford, Nikki Sixx and more!

Parton said she was “very honoured and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time, and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure”.

It’ll be her 53rd LP. Incredible. What an icon. Here she is with some of the guests on the LP and other assorted pals. Look at how much they all love her. It’s magic, isn’t it?
