Girl Ray are getting a lot of hype lately and sincerely, it’s richly deserved as they’ve been making great music for a while now, and the new stuff sounds like the best stuff they’ve done to date. Great stuff indeed.

They have a new LP out in August called ‘Prestige’ and the latest track is called ‘Up’ and it’s a little chugger disco gem which is utterly perfect for the upturn with the weather. We could be looking at the soundtrack to the summer, honestly!

“This song was written at the beginning of my current relationship,” says the group’s Poppy Hankin, dealing with all the lovely emotions of the start of a new romance, dealing with “all the emotions of a fledgling romance: adoration, self-doubt, and everything in between!”

And if you’re wondering if the excitement for the new LP is based just on this new tune, you’re wrong! ‘Everybody’s Saying That’ which came out a couple of months ago got a lot of people very giddy indeed.
