Our pal Aphex Twin is back with some new music, and it’s a mid-tempo breakbeat affair which won’t give you a nosebleed! Nice stuff, although we also like the nosebleed stuff too, for the record.
It’s called ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f’ and it originally appeared on Soundcloud, then vanished, then reappeared on your favourite streaming services.
Keen fans who will have already had the heads-up, as last week, Aphex Twin performed at Sonar 2023 and in a post on the socials, a message said “LOOK OUT FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL IN SONAR +D PROJECT AREA AND AT THE MERCH DESK.” That thing was a QR code, which lead to an augmented reality app with the catchy name of YXBoZXh0d2lu and when scanned, music and an animation kicked in.
