Cindy Wilson is one of the voices of the legendary B-52s and we all know her for the vampy, day-glo garage pop and big wigs. So when she’s back with a new single, we were expecting some bug-eyed fun, and well, we got something very different.
Talking about her new album and single, she said: “Though I love all of the tracks on ‘Realms’, there is something special about ‘Wait’. Its beautiful vocal melody; abstract love song about being in the right place at the right time.”
What struck us is that, rather than surf guitars and go-go boots, it’s sounds… well… kinda Balearic. We can see some fit dads in short shorts enjoying some ecstasy tablets on the beach in Northern Ibiza, chugging merrily along to this while the sun kisses their shoulders. Absolutely didn’t see that coming, but we’re definitely about it.
