Not long ’til Blur are playing to a packed out Wembley, and reminding everyone that you can be really English while not being a gammon.
With that, they’ve dropped another song from their forthcoming LP and it’s called ‘St Charles Square’ and reminds us of the eponymous LP with a healthy dollop of Modern Life Is Rubbish thrown in. It’s mildly discordant and noisy art-pop, is what we’re saying.
The band have been warming-up in smaller venues that will be familiar to die-in-the-wool Blur fans, and of course, they’ve shared a couple of tracks already from ‘The Ballad of Darren’.
When they play Wembley, they’ll be joined by Phil Daniels, Self Esteem, Sleaford Mods, Paul Weller, The Selecter and Jockstrap. The setlists have looked great from the warm-up shows, so have fun if you’ve bagsied tickets and a hotel! If not, here’s a video that compiles footage from their recent shows. Lovely stuff.
