ELVIS ’68 COMEBACK DOC

Elvis’ comeback special in ’68 is a legendary moment in pop music. It marked a return to an artist’s roots for one, which wasn’t hugely heard of at the time and, furthermore, reminded everyone that Elvis could be insanely hot – especially when he appeared on screen in his Leather Daddy guise.

Now, the TV special is the focus of a new Paramount+ documentary, ‘Reinventing Elvis: The ’68 Comeback,’ which will be a behind-the-scenes story of Presley’s hour-long special.

The new feature-length documentary is available to watch on the service in the States and Canada and rolling out throughout the rest of the world throughout the week.

The documentary is told from the perspective of director Steve Binder, Emmy Award-winning television director and author of “Elvis ’68 Comeback: Behind the Special,” and of course, it’ll have a myriad of interviews with fans, experts, and be filled with ace anecdotes and recollections of the show and behind the scenes stuff.

“The world is filled with stories about Elvis and his historic 1986 Comeback Special, but no one has ever told this story the way only I can tell it — because I was there for every moment of it,” said Binder. “I’m so proud of this film because it presents Elvis as he really was and looks at a specific moment in time — when Elvis took control of his life, his career, and his legacy. There’s never been a television moment quite like this one.”

Let’s remind ourselves of the intro to the show.
