There is something particularly satisfying seeing an artist do well after shrugging off previous mismanagement. This was the case with Tinashe who was being pigeonholed by old bosses and being thrown toward directions and collaborations that, if we’re being kind, we’re ideal.

Tinashe has always had her own independent spirit and early stuff excited R&B fans all over before a number of record company enforced runs left people wondering if she’d be yet another R&B artist with bags of potential unfulfilled. However, she wriggled free and started doing things on her own terms and everyone’s rooting for her.

With that, she’s got a new single out called ‘Nasty’ which is Tinashe’s stock-in-trade – namely catchy and light modern R&B with a whole load of good dance moves.
