King Princess is pretty cool, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they’re into Steely Dan like all the cool, disaffected, sarcastic kids are, right? We like that Prophet song they did too.

Anyway, they’ve covered The Dan’s ‘Dirty Work’ for the show Hacks. Of course, Donald Fagen doesn’t sing this song live, leaving it to the backing singers at shows, which tells any Steely Dan fans out there that they don’t have to be wildly precious while listening to this. Besides, it’s a nice reading and pretty faithful to the original.

We haven’t seen the show Hacks, so we can’t tell you anything about that really. It’s HBO though, so it is bound to be a classy joint and underlined by hiring King Princess to do a Steely Dan cover.
