The algorithm did its thing for a change, and dropped a video on us by an artist who goes by the name of D’Leesa. And she seems to be appearing on other algorithms too.

Now, it’s easy to be suspicious when things start to go any version of viral, and you think there might be some big money behind the whole thing, and this is some fancy marketing campaign for a new artist.

In this instance, we’re choosing optimism and thinking this might be the real, grassroots gone good, deal.

Apparently Atlanta-based, and a strong DIY ethic, D’Leesa makes club ready, electronic synth music that is tender and tuneful.

The track that landed on us goes by the name of ‘Healer’, and it got us looking for more to see what was going on.

They’ve been racking up the streams and it feels like an honest amassing of plays rather than some sneaky ploy from some big time label on the lowdown.

It is easy to be cynical, but this feels like sincere music and genuinely self-produced and released. That’s always worth taking note of. Uncompromising music doesn’t need to be difficult to listen to.

We did a small amount of digging, and it seems that she’s producing, mixing, and mastering songs all by herself on GarageBand mobile! Amazing!

The videos have a cool Outsider Music quality, harking back to a pre social media time, and the songs are great, so this is officially us jumping on the bandwagon and saying D’Leesa is one to watch.
