If you like your Post Punk to have a bucketload of funk and dirty disco in it, then you need to get on this new track from Sweeping Promises. They happen to have a new LP coming out in August called ‘You Say I Romanticize’ too, so good news all ’round.
They say of this new track, that it’s a “cacophony of routine, the plight of a lowly drone who dreams of breaking out of an instinct-born & increasingly restrictive flight path. It’s got a flapping, insectoid rhythm, which is misery to play. We call it ‘cicadence.’ It’s a succession of bee-sting realisations from an individual dangerously at risk of becoming feral, independent, an outsider.”
That’s you told. Press play on this, and think about how fun it would be to jump around to it with a belly full of cheap beer.
Here we go!
