Roxy Music are flinging the doors of their vaults open to give fans a real treat for the reissue of their ‘For Your Pleasure’ album, which is set to land on November 6th. Skip the words if you’ve heard enough and need to go and find a pre-order link somewhere, because we’re not giving it to you.
On this new issue, there’s loads of goodies in the form of previously unheard demos, home tapes, outtakes and more.
The home tapes were recorded in a cottage in Derbyshire where Bryan Ferry had holed up to write, as well as his flat in London. This will be the first time they’ve been heard.
For format completists, there’s going to be a 2xLP release, as well as 2xCD, Blu-Ray, Dolby Atmos and a 3CD+1DVD Super Deluxe Edition version.
The box set includes a 116-page book, complete with exclusive archive content, includes a 7000-word essay built from new interviews with the band, producers and creative team, and a 2500-word essay by Michael Bracewell. The book is illustrated with many rare and unpublished photographs, lyrics and work-in-progress lyric notes by Bryan Ferry, tape scans, tour dates, and a For Your Pleasure chronology. The book also includes an essay by Nick de Ville on Roxy Music’s visual world.
What a treat!
