Magnolia Pictures have announced that they will release a brand new 4K restoration of END OF THE CENTURY: THE STORY OF THE RAMONES, from directors Michael Gramaglia and Jim Fields.

Superb news.

The documentary is a fine, candid portrait of one of the most influential bands in history, and the 4K restoration will be released in theatres later this year. More importantly, it will be available to rent and have digitally if you’re not near a cinema showing it.

This movie traces the history of the band, from their scrappy and unlikely origins, through the huge highs and of course, vicious fallout.

2026 happens to mark the 50th anniversary of the release of the Ramones’ first album, so this jazzed up version of the film couldn’t be better timed.
