DJ SABRINA THE TEENAGE DJ TAKES ON OIZO

DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ is, these days, a cottage industry all of her own, putting out a dizzying amount of releases, mixes, re-edits and all manner of fun creative stuff. We’re still going to bat for her, because there’s no-one quite like her.

Still fiercely anonymous while being incredibly relatable, now we’ve got a twist on Mr Oizo’s mighty ‘Flat Beat’, with a thing called ‘Junior Beat’.

She says: “Now we all remember Nari & Milani’s Triangle? And we all remember Quentin Dupieux’s reaction to it? And we all remember the various attempts to remake the minimal genius of Flat Beat and Doom’s Night? And the genre fidget house? So, here’s my solution, combine elements of Flat Beat, Flat 55, M-Seq, Tweeter Trouble and Camisra’s Let Me Show You… simple when you think about it.”

Continuing: “Now, this video uses ZERO A.I. or slop! I hand-modelled the furniture in Blender, rendered it with Cycles, videoed the puppet at 24p, basic processing in Davinci Resolve. Whole video took a couple of hours of modelling and rendering, a couple of hours of shooting and a couple of hours of editing, see? No need for hot garbage AI. Finally, it’ll be on streaming soon!!”

Get on this if you know what’s good for you and you like fun things!
