You have no doubt heard some of the delightfully harrowing folk brutalism from Lankum, and likewise, been totally transfixed with singer Radie Peat’s delivery, haunted, powerful, and filled with soul. It’s not your typical trad band stuff, although there’s nothing wrong with session music.

Well, Radie is releasing some solo music and has a new single out to celebrate a new solo LP too.

The album is called ‘No Human Tongue Can Tell’, and to whet the whistle in advance, you can listen to new single ‘The Moon and Stars’ right now.

“There are coded references to unwanted pregnancies and abortions within the song”, Peat said in the press release. “As well as references to rue, a herb which was used to cause miscarriage, I wanted to represent these experiences from the woman’s perspective – to connect us with her experience”.

This follows ‘Still I Love Him, and the long player will be released on November 13th via Rough Trade.
