TAKE THE OREN AMBARCHI TIP-OFF FROM US

Are you a jazz head? A post-rock lover? Interested in whatever Tortoise are up to? If any of these apply to you, you might want to get on the new record from Oren Ambarchi, which goes by the name of ‘Cooked’.

It’s an album that is made up of two 20-odd minute tracks, and there’s contributions from the might Jim O’Rourke, Johan Berthling, Will Guthrie, Isak Hedtjärn, Eiko Ishibashi, Michiko Ogawa, Marcus Pal, Fredrik Rasten, James Rushford, Konrad Sprenger, Joe Talia, and Andreas Werliin.

We’re not feeling wordy enough to tackle an album like this in review form, but this is well worth checking out if you’re into great washes of sound, noodly instrumentation, improv, clicky ryhthms and all that good stuff that will have the heads in record shops all over the world nodding in agreement.

Here’s an excerpt for you to sample.
