Record Store Day Unsigned is a new thing and is now go, which basically means that one lucky band or artist will get their music pressed onto vinyl, which as we all know, ain’t cheap. Of course, there’s ways of doing it on a budget with the likes of ElasticStage, but there’s a bit of extra kudos that comes with this.

As well as getting your music pressed, it’ll also be distributed around the country, which is the real prize for those who don’t have their foot in the door. There’ll be 500 records going out, which is not to be sniffed at.

RSD are working with Breed Media, and as well as your record, you’ll also get some Bowers & Wilkins 607 S3 bookshelf speakers and a Marantz Stereo 70s amplifier too.

To win this, you’ll have to impress a panel of industry experts, which include BBC Radio 1’s Jess Iszatt, Mark Fulton who owns Vinyl Countdown, and Key Production Group’s Founder and CEO, Karen Emanuel.

Jess Iszatt sez: “I have been championing new music and artists coming through the UK via BBC Introducing officially for ten years now! There is nothing better than sharing and shouting about incredible new finds and watching them go on to smash it in their careers – I remember having Olivia Dean in the studio in 2019 and watching her at one of her multiple sold out O2 gigs this year was nothing less than iconic (may have shed a tear!). It’s a privilege to be asked to judge at RSD Unsigned 2026/27, and I cannot wait to hear what’s coming through, and be a small part of the winner’s journey. Roll on the music x”
