In hugely surprising news, we’re about to hear a brand new album from Blondie, the first they’ve released in around a decade!
No, it’s not the one that featured ‘Maria’ – there was a record out in 2017 called ‘Pollinator’, which regrettably passed us by, but hey ho!
Debbie Harry and Chris Stein have got some famous names signed up for ‘High Noon’, notably Johnny Marr and Glen Matlock, and others.
The album is out on February 26th of next year, and their first since we lost the mighty Clem Burke.
Harry said in the press release: “This album is classic Blondie—an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new. This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”
More amusingly, Stein added, “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the fuck I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.”
Here’s the first song from it.
