Robert Del Naja has announced he’s joined forces with the producers of the documentary ‘Life Support’ for a soundtrack that’ll benefit Health Workers 4 Palestine.
For the uninitiated, ‘Life Support’ is a film that follows a team of medics working in Gaza over a couple of years, “during which – given the ban on international journalists entering the territory imposed by the Israeli government – they inadvertently serve as independent, global witnesses to the realities of a systemic genocide,” says the press release.
The doc is directed by Daniele Rugo, and is available to steam on YouTube, Apple TV, Prime Video and others. As for the soundtrack, that’s streaming now and there’s a record you can buy as well with money going to charity.
Here’s the pre–order.
The soundtrack features some big hitters too, with Paul Weller, Kneecap, David Holmes, Del Naja himself, as well as Habib Shehada Hanna, Yasmine Hamdan, Massar Egbari, and loads more.
Del Naja says: “Given the magnitude and rawness of ‘Life Support’, it was humbling to be asked to compose work that could in some way enhance a second–hand experience of living the devastating realities for volunteer medics and Gazan civilians. We hope the range of compositions go some way to travelling the emotional quagmire – but also elevating the astounding human spirit and resilience displayed by the subjects of this film.”
