Although it doesn’t feel right, the first fully authorised Fleetwood Mac documentary is coming out. Surely we’ve seen a bunch of docs about them already, which they’ve all appeared in, right? Surely. Anyway, we can only share what’s been said, so here goes.

This new thing is called ‘Fleetwood Mac: The Chain’, and comes from director Frank Marshall, and is made with Apple Original Films, so no guesses for which streaming platform it’ll see the light of day on. Maybe there’ll be a DVD and Blu Ray too.

We’ll have to see.

It’ll be premiering on January 29th, 2027 and here’s the trailer for it. Of course, there’ll be a lot of chat about ‘Rumours’ and how they were all hopping in and out of each others beds and cocaine habits you can see from space.

We suspect it’ll be weirdly comforting to see the members of Mac airing their dirty laundry again.

The official blurb says: “For the first time ever, Fleetwood Mac is telling their story in their own words. The documentary offers fans a definitive and unprecedented look at Fleetwood Mac’s story, bringing together the voices, memories and perspectives of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.”

Apple added that this film will “explore how the band’s trials and tribulations, personal resilience and musical dexterity combined to create songs that have stood the test of time and are enduring masterpieces.”
